Email campaigns for the 2022 Catskill Environmental Research & Monitoring Conference

For this series of email campaigns, I wrote copy that was relevant and concise. I coupled the copy with images and appropriate links, designing the layout to draw the eye through the email body, from top to bottom. I shot many of the campaign header photos during my hikes in the Catskill Mountains and created accompanying graphics and videos.

This year’s conference theme is ‘What could the Catskills look like in 50 years?’ We’ll explore current trends in ecology, natural resources, and human life in the Catskills, and how to employ the techniques of futurists to identifying emerging issues. The conference program is designed to facilitate strategic conversation about the future of environmental research and management in the Catskills. Check out our exciting 2022 Conference Program!

The Full Moon Resort is a destination venue offering locally acclaimed catered cuisine. Set amongst one-hundred acres of verdant Catskill Mountain meadows, forests and streams, it's the perfect natural retreat to network with colleagues.

You'll have ample opportunity to share ideas and catch-up with colleagues at social mixers, including a poster session kabob hour, cozy campfire chat and evening rendezvous at the "Roadhouse" with a dance floor and disco ball lighting!

After a full day of presentations and networking, relax in one of Full Moon Resort's country inn style lodges or luxury cottages. Lodging is limited and offered at a special rate, so register to reserve a room now! *Camping is not allowed.

Enjoy local attractions while you're in the heart of the Catskills, including a hike to nearby Panther Mountain! The Full Moon Resort is the perfect base to explore the region and potential research opportunities.

As we enjoy this exceptionally lovely summer, it might be difficult to recall the crippling ice storm that hit the Catskill region this past February, and even more difficult to understand how a warming planet might lead to more frequent and severe ice storms. To help us out, our Special Guest Dinner Speaker this year will be Dr. Lindsey Rustad, research ecologist with the USDA Forest Service Center for Research on Ecosystem Change, and Co-Director of the USDA Northeast Climate Hub.

Dr. Rustad will speak on the surprising impact of global climate change on northeastern U.S. forests with her talk:

“Why Ice Storms Aren’t Cool: The latest research on forest response to these catastrophic events”

Dr. Lindsey Rustad is a Team Leader for the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in NH. Her areas of expertise include biogeochemistry, global change impacts, and advanced environmental sensor systems. Her current interests include implementation of cybertechnology in forests across the northeastern United States and integration of art and science at long term ecological field stations.
